In short, bladed dive is mucho useful. BD & Double surge is mega much useful. Added tip, if you’re using double surge, add the mobile perk to an off hand augmented Excalibur. Even more mobility.

They are super handy and borderline necessary for BGH, and I'd definitely want at least BD before starting t3 dinos. Obviously they are nice for clues. PVM wise, you want bd for Raksha (once you have laceration boots and scythe), and bd/dbl surge is nice for things like telos, rax, rago, but i wouldn't say its necessary. double surge is very ... You might also want to try putting a water hose close to the cut at the top of the blade. The water will cool the blade, wet the sawdust a bit, and also help lubricate. If the water works, then a larger gullet is also indicated, as spilling also heats the blade and causes it to wander. From contributor I:

It’s not bad, but it also depends how good at PvM you are and how much you are utilizing surge/barge, proper abilities at proper times, etc. it can be done in about 2 hrs easily though if you have an idea of what to do.
